About the author:
Philip A. Loubere is a professor of Visual Communication at Middle Tennessee State University, USA. He has an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining the faculty at MTSU he worked for eighteen years in a professional capacity in information graphics and publication design, twelve of those years for three major metro newspapers, The Seattle Times, the San Jose Mercury News, and The Orange County Register.

Professor Loubere was the sole creator in every aspect of this publication, with the exception of photographs. He researched every topic and wrote all text, created all the graphics and illustrations, and designed and typeset all the pages of the book, in the end delivering a press-ready document to the publishers.
